Hydrangea’s,Dahlia’s,Roses,Asters are just some of the flowers you can pick from ( your own ) garden and use them indoors. Make a simple bunch or a beautiful centerpiece when your having friends over for dinner.
Most flowers from gardens are heavy drinkers but flowers like Gerbera,Ranunculus and Anemones ( flowers with hairy stems ) like a low water-level in their vase. For all others ; fill a clean bucket with 1/3 fresh water add a few drops bleach in it, cut the stems slightly amd remove the lower leafs put the freshly picked flowers in the bucket for a night.
The next day when the flowers already soak up a lot of water you can use them in an arrangement or in a vase, cut the stems again and use fresh water for your design. The flowers mentioned before with the hairy stems are also having problems with the use of floral-foam.
