Ammaryllis, a Touch of Extravagance.

The amaryllis legend
The name ‘Amaryllis’ comes from Greek mythology. The shepherdess, Amaryllis, stabbed herself in the heart because of her unrequited love for Alteo. On the spot where the drops of blood fell to the ground there grew a large red flower, with a wide open calyx. It was the very place where the brave Alteo kissed Amaryllis for the first time. Not surprisingly, the new flower was named ‘Amaryllis’.
